Planning you dream bathroom is an exciting task – but we know that it can also be a daunting one. There are so many different types of baths, showers, taps, toilets, radiators, accessories… it can be very difficult to know where to start. Here we explain how to turn that bathroom dream into a reality in a few easy steps…
Step One: Contact Your Plumber
The most important stage in designing your new bathroom is contacting your plumber. Before you start imagining a stunning free-standing bath as the focal point of your new room, you must consider the practicalities. Is your bathroom big enough for a free-standing bath and a separate shower? Will your upstairs bathroom floor bear the weight of a cast-iron bath, water and someone in the bath too? Your plumber will be able to offer advice on potential layouts and technical issues relevant to your particular needs such as water pressure, the possible options for location of water and waste pipes and, crucially for those cold winter months, appropriate heating outputs.
Step Two: Start Browsing!
Once you have discussed a possible layout with your plumber, it’s time to start browsing the many manufacturers, designs and styles available. If you are unsure what style of bathroom you are looking for, our online Style Guide is a great place to start. Similarly, our online Buying Guides set out and simplify the options available to you when considering, for example, the types of basins on the market or the importance of choosing the right tap.
Many of our suppliers also offer excellent online design tools and product selection guides where you can start to visualise your new bathroom (click the links below).

Step Three: Visit our Showrooms
Next stop? The Showroom! Our experienced showroom staff are always keen to impart their impressive product knowledge, gained over many years of working in the bathroom trade. Whilst browsing for bathrooms online will give you a good idea of the type of products you are looking for, we certainly think that nothing beats visiting a bathroom showroom where you can see, touch and feel the products on display. It is a good idea to bring your proposed new layout with you when you visit and you will also need to make sure that you have checked all the product dimensions required for your new bathroom before choosing your products.
We can also provide you with all the latest catalogues showcasing bathroom design from a wide range of manufacturers to allow you to continue browsing (and measuring up) at home after your visit.
We look forward to meeting you soon and sharing our years of experience. Happy bathroom shopping!
